Non-Governmental Organizations – NGOs – are encouraged to participate in EDN by providing content to the EDN Search Engine. The EDN Search Engine provides an intuitive, centralized Web-based platform for governmental organizations to coordinate locally and cooperate internationally in fostering business development in emerging markets. As an EDN Search Engine Contributor, an NGO can promote programs and initiatives that support business enterprise development and growth — with a MyEDN profile page. Some NGOs may also be interested in participating in EDN as EDN Originators. The network of EDN Originators is comprised of financial institutions, business consultants, associations, law firms and regional investment promotion agencies. EDN Loan and Political Risk Insurance Originators work with business enterprises to develop finance, technical assistance or insurance application packages. Originators assist their business enterprise clients during the application process, from initial screening to approval and negotiation. By leveraging the strength of The EDN Search Engine, NGOs can better ensure the success of their programs by increasing their reach to more qualified business enterprises around the globe.
Established in 2007, EDN has developed partnerships with dozens of business service providers (BSP) located around the world. EDN is expanding to include the resources of lenders and equity providers (CAP, or Capital Providers), US and foreign government organizations (GOV), and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO).
The EDN Search Engine gives businesses instant access to EDN partners’ wide range of programs and services, including technical assistance grants, private and public funding, and other business opportunities, services and support.
Ultimately, EDN provides a common platform for business enterprises to find the resources they need from qualified and trusted providers — and for EDN partners to market their portfolios, programs and services directly to the emerging markets they strive to serve.
The EDN Search Engine fills the gap in the global effort to strengthen developing economies by providing instant access to information, tools, and experienced professional assistance — as well as the capital — necessary for success.
